VIN + OMI X MULTAKA X PITT RIVERS MUSEUM
ThouVIN + OMI teamed up with Oxford Brookes University’s Amy Harris, Multaka Oxford and the Pitt Rivers Museum in Oxford to realise a project which took waste plastic from VIN + OMI’s UK clean-up projects, turned this into microfibre secure rPET fabric which was then sculptured into flowers by the Multaka volunteers. Multaka are an Oxford based group of volunteers who are often displaced refugees and asylum seekers.
This project enabled the Multaka volunteers to work on a creative team project, often for the first time. The finished dress was then added to the catwalk at VIN + OMI’s DYSPHORIAN’s show at London’s art’otel Hoxton at the start of London Fashion Week . Multaka volunteers were present at the show.
The dress is now on permanent display at Oxford’s Pitt Rivers Museum
rafte to elevate what matters most.
