ART - is a exploration of how studio VIN + OMI can portray new sustainable textiles and processes as ART. The collection, shown at our sustainable partner, The Dorchester Hotel, includes the world’s first dress made from chestnuts. Willow rods were taken from HRH Prince Charles’s Highgrove residence and processed into textile and dresses for the catwalk. Hard to recycle plant pots were processed into jewellery. Paint tubes from Daler-Rowney were processed into rPET textile for the print dresses. Portfolios and canvases were recycled into garments. rPET fabric was used to make a Jagemeister outfit and incorporated recycled promo materials. Selvedge strips from leading wool mill Johnstons of Elgin was used to make a one-off dramatic outfit. VIN + OMI recycled neoprene and garments were also incorporated into the collection. Headpieces were made from recycled KMS salon bottles.
